Agriculture and the food industry
Increasing agricultural production, improving the value and nutritional qualities of food, ensuring food safety and reducing their environmental impact: the agricultural and agrifood markets are facing major technological challenges worldwide.

Genomics is used to characterize living organisms and it enables researchers to analyze and understand many of the processes linked to food production: the quality and quantity of raw materials, the genetic evolution of species, soil quality for crops, feed quality for livestock, etc.
Applications
GenoScreen has developed specific genomics and bioinformatics services for the animal husbandry, nutrition and agrifood sectors:
Developing crop resistance to diseases, parasites, extreme weather conditions...
Improving the nutritive qualities of crops.
Limiting the health impact of biopesticides.
Improving the digestibility of animal feeding products.
Creating traceability tools for food, crop and livestock production.

Healthcare & nutrition
Better understanding health through microorganism interactions is a key aspect of the One Health approach.

Whether it's through studying the gut microbiome to develop innovative treatments or nutraceutical products, exploring specific diseases in clinical or preclinical studies, or addressing issues such as pathogenicity, virulence, antibiotic resistance, and the fight against multidrug-resistant infectious agents, scientific and regulatory requirements are becoming increasingly stringent.
At GenoScreen, our goal is to turn science into tailored solutions that meet your specific needs, leveraging our expertise in genomics and microbiology.
Genomics: A central component of future therapeutic and industrial innovation
Research teams are increasingly confronted with multifactorial and complex challenges in areas such as infectious diseases, gastrointestinal health, and oncology.
Simultaneously, industrial stakeholders must ensure the safety, efficacy, and traceability of their products, underpinned by robust, auditable data fully aligned with international regulatory frameworks (GCLP, GMP, EFSA, Novel Food).

Collaborative research - At the heart of international innovation in genomics
GenoScreen is a partner in collaborative research projects that bring together startups, multinationals and public-sector organizations. Our R&D teams provide their knowledge and expertise in the molecular microbiology of isolated agents and complex communities. This allowed our teams to develop our own projects for elaborating innovative products and services.
Our projects are designed to:
- Improve the diagnosis and management of acute/chronic diseases on humans and animals,
- Characterize and monitor microbial biodiversity, with applications in agronomy, agrifood and environment.
The common feature of these projects is the development of molecular tools for the characterization, monitoring and diagnosis of microbial communities. The key objective is to market simple analytical solutions and (ultimately) preventive, corrective or even therapeutic products based on microorganisms.
