Les analyses de g\u00e9nomes montrent que cette lign\u00e9e est n\u00e9e d\u2019un embranchement ancestral, ant\u00e9rieur au point de branchement commun \u00e0 toutes les autres lign\u00e9es de souches courantes de tuberculose connues \u00e0 ce jour. Cette d\u00e9couverte renforce l&rsquo;hypoth\u00e8se d&rsquo;une origine est-africaine du bacille de la tuberculose, qui demeure la principale cause de mortalit\u00e9 d\u2019origine infectieuse, et fournit des indices mol\u00e9culaires suppl\u00e9mentaires sur l&rsquo;\u00e9volution vers un mode de vie pathog\u00e8ne.
