In fact, this type of analysis used to be based on the analysis of the <strong>rRNA16S and rRNA18S\/28S genes<\/strong> using PCR amplification, cloning and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.genoscreen.fr\/en\/genomic-services\/sequencing\/sanger-sequencing\/\" type=\"page\" id=\"806\">Sanger sequencing<\/a>. These approaches were time-consuming, fastidious and, often, provided information only on the most prevalent <strong>microorganisms <\/strong>in a sample.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, <strong>targeted metagenomics<\/strong> and <strong>microbial profiling<\/strong> approaches performed on NGS systems are replacing older methods and are generating far more sequence data per sample than could previously be envisaged.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">GenoScreen &#8211; Bacterial and fungal services provided<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our methodology is still based on the<strong> targeted analysis of ubiquitous genes<\/strong> (rRNA16S, rRNA18S\/28S, ITS1&amp;2), which are now directly obtained using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.genoscreen.fr\/en\/technology-platforms\/\" type=\"page\" id=\"104\">next-generation sequencers<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to a <strong>taxonomic <\/strong>analysis, our teams can offer more in-depth outputs <strong>(beta diversity<\/strong>, <strong>phylogenetic trees<\/strong>, etc.).<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading panel-title\">Metabiote: the benchmark in targeted metagenomics<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GenoScreen has developed a <strong>standardized, optimized metagenomics technique<\/strong> that incorporates all our expertise.
